Glad to hear that you are committing to this load. As others have noted the way to run this is to get as many hours as you can the day you pick up the load, getting as close to or at the customer as possible. Next day wake up early enough to be at your appointment on time. You only need to log about 15 minutes for On Duty Not Driving for checking in to the loading dock, then you can log Off Duty while waiting to get unloaded. Once you are unloaded then log back in as ODND and get to the closest place to park for a 10 and wait for your next dispatch.
I boldfaced your comment that you don't like to roll unless you have at least 14 on your 70 and prefer to do a reset. You will make more money and be more valuable to your company and customers if you are willing to run right up against that 70 on a continuous basis. For example, last year I had a run from Laredo to San Diego that I started with 7 hours on my 70 and ran on recaps the whole way. The day before delivery I only had 2.5 hours to work with, sitting in Yuma, and decided to get to the mountain pass on I-8 before dropping into San Diego, staying at a casino parking lot. Only a two hour drive, but well worth the effort to escape the 105ºF Yuma temperatures and enjoy a nice 78ºF with a nice ocean breeze at the top of the pass. The next morning I had 10 hours coming back, made the delivery and hooked into another load and kept running.
We don't know what company you drive for. However, generally speaking the planners will be looking at your available hours today and hours coming back, and try to dispatch you on loads that will maximize use of whatever hours you have. Sure, sometimes you'll get a dispatch that won't fit, but if you are flexible with how you manage your time and are willing to run right up against that 70 you'll do fine.
should i run it.

100 days with no reset?...paper or plastic?..lol
-
I've run as many as six weeks at a time without a reset.
I'd also like to add that you need to pay attention to the fact your hours coming back are based on your home time zone. Sometimes it will make sense to run at night, starting at a time that will allow your hours coming back to "get there" before your starting hours run out. For example, you might start driving at 21:30 (home time zone time) with 3:45 left on your 70. At midnight you can keep on rolling with whatever hours are coming back, so you might be able to get in a full 11 hours driving and park the next day before noon. -
Im always on a reset...lol
I had a fresh 70 in larado..went to memphis..memphis to phoenix..phoenix to el paso el paso back to memphis got two hours left
Id give th op my last two hours if I could..

my advice get moving run as best you can,if you see your not going to make it call dispatch and put the monkey on them. let them make the decision for you to stop, most dispatchers will tell you to stop if you are out of hours, because they dont want to sit in the safety directors office explaining why he told you to run over hours. try and get him to send you a message what to do. that is i think the proper way to do it in todays world. in the old days it would be simple a yeah ok would be just fine. be safe out there dont let them put you in a bad spot if something happens

should i run it.
run it wide open. f--- the hours you have remaining.you'll feel good about it when you get it there and then your dispatcher or whatever will give you an atta boy and another gravy run.short hard runs generally pay the best anyway.
the speed limit will be 70 for over half the distance and that means you can run 75+mph.that is the only 70 that you need to concern yourself with.just do it and then let us know how it felt.i never understood the concern with running out of hours when you have plenty of time to do it to it.
edited to declare that i just read you can only do 60? wtf man? you need to start driving a truck and put that 60 mph junk behind you.it will be liberating-koncrete cowboy Thanks this. -
....this is like christmas...I cant wait to hear if he makes it!!! Go!! Go!!! Go!!!

Someone crank up jerry reed!!! Only its west bound and down..lol -
If ur drop and hooks work like mine and u can get in there at anytime...leave at 4 drive to get load get going, stay out of Ts, hopefully no fuel stop. U will be thru Atlanta after rush hour at that point. Get to customer go off duty. Save urself enough time to get off property and go do a 34 unless u are gaining more hours come Friday night into Saturday. Its how I would run it.

He did westbound and down too so can still crank up the snowman
koncrete cowboy Thanks this. -
when you get to the shipper go on duty remark unhook, go into sleeper birth, after they have it unloaded go on duty hook up to trailer. If you are not hooked to the trailer you are not on duty.
koncrete cowboy Thanks this.
