People that grease doors and other childish things have been known to have a club upside the head when returning, not a threat by any means or promoting violence but it does still happen.
Should this bother me?

ItsallaboutMe is rampant in this thread. The guy was getting something to eat. He figured the guy who left a locked trailer in his bobtail wasn't in a hurry to leave. No harm no foul.

That "dont rat" crap is what separates the men from the weasels
a man handles whatever comes his way, even if he has to take licks
a weasel goes running to tell mommy or the cops or calls a man's company on him
who is donnie brisco? -
You don't have the authority to have anybody else's truck or trailer towed unless you own the property on which it is parked. Even then, in many places it would require a contract with a towing company and signs posted stating who towed it, where they can be found, and a phone number to contact them in order to even THINK about calling to have the vehicle removed. When I drove a wrecker, we had a 48 hour contract available...because the state law said that the signs had to be posted for 24 hours before we could remove the vehicle and they had to remain up for 24 hours after the tow.
Get caught hooking to a trailer that isn't yours, and you run the risk of the cops being called and YOU being fitted with a set of chrome bracelets and taking that not-so-cheap ride in the back seat of a police cruiser straight to the gray bar motel because if that trailer is mine, I'm not going to want to hear your excuses...I'm pressing charges to the fullest extent of the law. Evidence is pretty clear...you hooked your truck up to a trailer which you had no business whatsoever hooking to. You can plead your intentions all day long that you weren't "stealing" it, just "moving" it out of your way, but it doesn't matter. Fact is, you had no legal right to hook to the trailer...even if it WAS blocking you in.Tonythetruckerdude, aiwiron and FLATBED Thank this. -

for better or worse, if i HAD to leave, i would hook to his trailer, move it 50feet and be on my wayx#1 Thanks this. -
Years ago when I lived in Birmingham, I had a spot where I could drop my trl.
One Sunday morning I go to leave and this van trl. was parked right in front of my trl..
There was room for him to park beside me at the time I dropped and then came back.
So I look and no pin lock on the van trl.
I hook up to it and move it off to the side. Then I lowered the landing gears just a little.
I had slide ramps on my trk..
Trl was loaded.
Left them a note stating next time do not block me in..
Bet they had fun cranking up the landing gear to under under that loaded trl... -
A real man follows the law and would not jeopardize his job, his career, and the well being of his family in a fit of rage. There's a time to hold them and a time to fold them. This isn't the wild West.
Donnie Brasco: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119008/
And what happens when he comes out from eating to see you raising the landing gear on his trailer?aiwiron and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
Well call me a weasel, snitch, rat ...whatever...I have a really short fuse and tolerance for other peoples mess, so I choose to let the people who get paid to handle that handle it .... If its your mother or your company I could care less
And if you don't know who Donnie Brasco is well its not worth explaining -
I know what happened. He was waiting for a parking spot to open . As soon as he sees you leave he'll have the spot that was his to begin with. He was just at Sub-Way getting a sandwich.
Seriously. It's a pain but with 4 feet between the back of his trailer and the front of yours you can't hook up? Never, I mean never try your hand at local, big city work.
For those that jump and say you should retaliate in some form or another. GROW UP. This ain't the school yard and ADULTS act like ADULTS ALL the time. -
And how he handles it is what counts.
Wouldn't it be easier to just leave it hooked to his truck? Seems pretty clear that we're not talking about a dropped trailer in this thread.
