Hi I am driving a 2021 freight liner as a company driver and it has a very loud and obnoxious side guard alarm that goes off whenever someone is to the right of me. I used to be able to turn it off in the settings menu but there was a system update and now that option is no longer there. Does anyone know a way to physically remove the sensors or any other way to permanently turn the side guard off?
It is up to the company how the alarms are set, But I think the alarm could be turned down so it still makes noise, but not quite so loud.
If it’s your own truck have the dealership disable it.. If it’s not your truck, ask your company to disable it.. If they refuse, quit..it’s that simple.
My company considered tampering with any safety device as a firing offense. If you own the truck, disable it. If you don't own the truck follow @Concorde advice above.
