Please tell me you filed A claim on this. Mercer will back you and make sure it gets covered.
As for being put out of service. No. Just go past the last good spool on your tie downs.jldilley Thanks this. -
They would say, "Mercy 6 alive we got ourselves a broken side rail! Level 1, level 1 pull in to the bay!" You could be looking at an over width citation possibly. Cargo securement would be concern two. What would they really say? All depends on officer discretion, what doesn't bug me will bug someone else.
-
You could run a couple of straps over it and pull it back in so it's not hanging out so far.
-
That is what I did was hook a strap on to the rail to suck it in. and heck yes I was on the phone to claims in less than a minute. I think it will be ok, contractor boss said they would fix it. I have a run tomorrow and will work on getting it in somewhere to get it fixed. I used a chain and binder to try to straighten it but i cant get a good angle. I did not think about the strap idea untill I posted this so thanks guys.

Yeah spyder, lots of pics and detailed description. I was told this might take a little longer because of everybody being busy with the MATS show. I should find out in a few days.
-
How did they do that?
-
If you get down my way I could fix you up in no time that's not really that bad.
281ric and dannythetrucker Thank this. -
Cut on the bad side rails and grind area smooth and weld the new side rails, send them a bill or let Great Dane do it. File a claim if customer don't want to pay. But you need to prove they did it. Put a big sticker on the side "DONT BUMP SIDES OR IT WILL COST"
-
No don't cut the rail there's a reason they used one piece!!!
Ruthless and passingthru69 Thank this.
