    Kenworth day cabs?

i was going about my errands earlier this morning, and behind me was (what seemed like) a new KW day cab, all painted up in the UPS brown. i had to take my exit, but as it passed me, i could only see that it was a twin screw. no trailer attached at the time.

it seemed like it was brand new, but it most certainly WAS a K/whopper day cab.

well then, they are obviously making a profit to go from freighliners, and volvos and macks, to the more expensive K/W's....

before i had retired, i wasn't seeing any k/w's pull into the d/c center i worked out of.

and at night, i couldn't see the make/model of UPS trucks going the other direction.

so, i ain't seen them before this morning.

In the Denver area, probably last three years, actually, Kenworth has come down in price to be competitive with other makers. We are possibly switching to KW's, company just bought 1 sleeper and 2 daycabs, the consensus is they suck, but KW prices were fairly close to what we normally pay for Mack.

Twin screw might be for all the sea/rail containers they've been hauling lately

well when you think about it, flashing around in expensive equipment smells like money in a law suit, over cheaper crap.
