Well it is a fact that they ask you to pay before the service, most people comply. You are Not require to pay until the service is provided. All you have to do is react to that, and if they insist you pay before the service is provided then you react to that by starting to walk away. (To another Center)

Correct answer is sleep testing is not mandatory......no doctor can force
    you to take the test.

Problem is the doctor does not have to give you a medical card......federal
law requires you to have a valid medical card. Doctor can make you jump
through some hoops before giving you the card.

Usually the doctor will give you a 90 Day Medical Card. He will record that
90 day card with the state.........reason for the 90 day card------he wants you to do
sleep apnea testing. There has now been a record established with the state that
a doctor believes you are at risk. My understanding is at this point you have no
choice.....either get tested or quit driving. Going to a different doctor does not
erase the record from the first doctor.

You are allowed to go to a different doctor for a second opinion. You have to be sure to give the second doc the same info you gave the first. OOIDA has more on this.

When is it OK for a trucker to get a second opinion on a DOT physical?

    Aamcotrans and Bigtruck860 Thank this.

They always ask for one. I can’t prove it, but I think they get healthy kick backs from machine sales and dr referrals. I will never allow them to do my physical.
Also, I believe I read that FMSCA states they can attribute a total of 3 accidents to sleep apnea
