SLOW DOWN!!!

    Okay, I've noticed a few instances this week where drivers were FLYING through parking lots, not just rookies either, places that only hire experienced drivers...

    I saw an Andrews trucking at the tank wash that had to be on the high side going through a lot that I just creep through in 1st gear because it has such large craters in it!

    I saw a flatbed at the steel mill just standing on it through the parking lot...

    and every day in truck stops all over there are drivers going far too fast for the lot!


    You drivers who are doing this need to slow down, not only are you putting people who are walking around these lots at risk, your beating the hell out of your equipment, though i'm sure you don't care about anyone but yourself!

    If I owned trucks and I ever saw someone going through a lot too fast just smashing my truck through the pot holes they would be walking home!!!


    I don't care if you go 100mph on the highway, good for you, I like to get in the left lane myself...but what's the sense in flying through the parking lots, are you really going to save any time?

    Please slow down and think about the pedestrians walking around you!

    Much as I hate the potholes, I'm thinking that leaving them unrepaired, in addition to adding speed bumps, may be the only thing to slow some of these drivers down.

    Most have the attitude, "Ain't my truck, ain't my problem."

    Wait till the day one of these drivers runs over someone speeding through a parking lot and they get to spend some time in prison.

    It's terrible how guys drive through parking lots, rest areas etc... I keep waiting for some idiot to smash into a fuel island, the way some drive.

    But you are correct...they could care less what is going on outside their little world. Just pay attention to how and where some of these "professional" drivers park.

    Yes sir. Ya know, last couple of years there have been a few people getting killed in parking lots of truckstops. Wonder how many 2013 will tally?

    I forgot where I was the other day....Loves or Pilot in IL or WI...but one of those HUGH concrete barriers had been knocked clean over...I mean the big, round ones that are probably four feet or so in diameter and more than a few feet tall and have got to weigh several thousand pounds....

    Not even sure the speed bumps would do it. They would probably just try to use them as a ramp and see if they can get the wheels off the ground.
