Some of us have been saying for a long time now, "Get out and look". Go to some of the companies you like in your area. Write down all the information you get from the company and keep going. If you were doing the hiring would you rather hire someone from paper or someone standing in front of you? Sure you'll run into a lot of companies that require you to fill on-line but don't limit yourself. Hitting the bricks for a company you like should be number 1 priority and then go to the phone and on-line. Then when you do find a job and you have all that windshield time thinking you'll know you did everything you could.
Make a list of what you want. Of course money is number one but what about health care, retirement, schooling, holidays, vacation, type of equipment, care of equipment, home time, and many more. Keep that list and do your own rating of the companies. Ask some drivers if that company has any drivers that retire. Also ask them how they like that company. Once you get the same answer from a few drivers you'll know what that company is like. If you find a great company, say like a dedicated gasoline hauler, and they tell you need experience then ask them if they know of any companies that might hire so you can get the experience to work for them latter on. The companies love to hear things like that. You're telling them you want to work into their company and you'll do what it takes. Good luck. You can PM me anytime you like.Chinatown, briarhopper and new chavo Thank this.
