Me, I am a pacifist. I can outtalk an intelligent man and out run a fool....Bud A., Deere hunter, Sons Hero and 3 others Thank this. -
If it’s assigned to you then I’d say the other guy can pound sand.
TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, tscottme, Feedman and 3 others Thank this. -
You do what you gotta do, empties are like diamonds. I was told to swap at a yard, and dispatch said I could take the incoming empty; but when I went to leave, local gave me a talking and said I should’ve gotten on their list. I’ve been on their list before and they didn’t call me, I avoided yards on otr cause they steal empties if they know you’re sitting for awhile.

I would lock the gladhand and kingpin. And put OOS on it.
TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, Feedman and Bud A. Thank this. -
The hardest part of removing a padlock is moving the tool bag to get the bolt cutters out.
King pin locks get tricky, mainly because I don't have a lot of practice, but the cheap ones you can rip the lock cylinder out and the expensive ones you can shim. -
I would have taken the trailer with me to the shop that was doing your maintenance.

Feedman Thanks this.

If I have to drop my mt, I put a seal on it so it looks loaded. Sometimes with the lock as well. If it appears loaded and under dispatch it should not be a problem.TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, 4wayflashers, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sorry to pee on your parade OP, it is the company's trailer - not yours.
If the other guy has a customer to serve and you don't, if I was the boss, he would have been leaving with it.expedite_it, Hatt91, Kyle G. and 2 others Thank this.
