My 1st car a Hyundai sonata would lock itself randomly Lol. I was able to get a metal coat hanger and fish it in the window to hit the lock button. Took over a hour

this, although I now have two hidden keys for this reason….

local lock shop cut 5 for me and I bought one blank for places that insist on “surrendering” keys

I now drive a Chevy Silverado for the company I work for , and having a
a spare key is a lifesaver

I’ve had to crawl under and retrieve it several times

do NOT use the magnetic boxes
    Use a bread twist tie
Or a zip tie or a miniature turnbuckle carabiner thing .

I always keep one zip tied under the hood and another on the battery. Cheap insurance. And yes, you can open the hood from outside on even a Volvo, you’ll just have dirty forearms.

I almost hate to say it in an open forum, but anybody with a pair of Vise-Grips can break in through the wing window in seconds flat... just tightly clamp the Vise-Grips on the circular outer part of the wing window lock and crank it forward. The lock will be broken, but nobody can tell by looking at it from the outside. Don't ask me how I know this...

    Numb Thanks this.

I’ve had my Peterbilt lock itself one day. Usually you can only lock the driver’s door from the outside.

    10-2, 10-4.
Some keys may have been to another Truck, not that any customer would have known.
Sadly, not just the very GREEN Drivers have and will hand over their ONLY KEY.

"Yes ;), that's the only Truck key I have , so please do not lose it".
