As already stated, the 105 km/h (65 mph) maximum, set by way of a limiter, is applicable in Ontario and Quebec only. The limiter operation cannot be temporary and must be tamper-proof and applies to all regulated CMVs that operate in those two provinces, regardless of where they are registered/domiciled. If a regulated CMV is observed to be driving faster than 115 km/h (?... not 100% on that speed), then that will be considered proof of the absense of a functioning speed limiter. If convicted, the fine is not less than $250 and not more than $20,000.

You poor guys are gonna be like us soon, over regulated and treated like robots, fines for absoloutly everything, all speed limiters here are 89 kph , they tell us it's for safety but accident figures have actually gone up since their introduction, accidents like falling asleep at the wheel have shot up cos drivers are bored outa their minds

 

Freight rates are what they are because fuel cost is ridiculously high, as for the government they know what will get them votes. Make it look like we're making the highway safer by slowing down the big bad truck. Don't worry about making any rest areas for the drivers to sleep in though. I could go on about this subject for days, but I'll spare everyone the rant

 

You do know the Ontario trucking assosiation was pushing for the speed limiter law, for exactly the reasons posted, they want to reduce capacity, by making US trucks want to stay out, which pushes up freight rates.
