And I'll wager many who support this are the very same people that get extremely annoyed when they are held up a few minutes by a slower truck in a state that has split speed limits.

Ok I'll play, if I have a speed limiter, 4 wheelers get HOS and all the violations are bumped up to CDL level. (Pay the fine a CDL holder pays etc) Oh and 4 wheelers have to do a pre and post trip and can be pulled over at anytime for a inspection. Don't forget the medical card either.

I'd sure like to see some data saying that a Federally mandated speed differential is safer. I doubt that the law will say the limit will be the posted speed limit, and I am certain they will accept no responsibility if fatalities increase.

E-logs and speed limiters, all being pushed down your throat by the American Trucking Association, to push the little guy out off business.

If every truck was limited to (for example) 62 mph, what you would end up with is a convoy.

    Convoy's are illegal.

they won't mandate a limiter. states would lose revenue from speeding truckers. they've already spent billions on speed signs.

but on another side. maybe we can finally get a boost in cali and oregon. make it a nationwide speed limit.

I can see them limiting the trucks and not changing the states that are lower.

As far as speeding trucks, I could see them with a right lane restriction.

    Neither is attractive.

Less miles I have to drive & for more money.

Don't really want to drive that fast on these crappy roads anyway.
