These are the best investment for the do it your selfer. Just a small ball valve with a lock stop to keep any debris under truck,, car, etc from opening it up. I run engine to get to operating temp. Just open valve and catch the oil. No more dropping hot azzed plug in oil. No mess. If you are going to do your own oil it is something you will love.

You can buy them through CAT & mail them off to where ever their lab is in your area for a complete analyses. Thinking the oil test is $11 & the anti freeze is $30. Comes postage paid too. Altorfer CAT is who I go through in IL.
The really cool thing I found after sending off the first samples after buying the truck was that the previous half dozen results from the original owner were forwarded on to me as well. -
I THINK it was around $265.00, but don't hold me too it.
Like you, I normally do it myself, or let an independent PM shop do it; I know and trust those guys. We have been so busy lately, I just got lazy.
The price didn't seem too bad for a basic service, and I was cautioned about not letting them do anything extra, so that's really not my complaint. Seems like they are trained to "play on your insecurity". Who wants to drive away with your truck not fully ready for another 15k miles? -
Speedco and a few others are over zeleous on the plugs because thay have bought a few engines and boxes. In Houston they torque everything and you watch and sign off.
Upselling is their job. I personally only use them in a pinch for convienence and because they have everything right there.
