Some states allow you to pay extra and have it settled without being reported on your record... Louisiana is one of those states. Or was...

My attorney went to the arraignment this morning to enter the plea on my behalf. The pre trial is a couple weeks away. Drivers that have been through this process, how often have you settled at the pre trial stage vs actually having to goto trial?

Mine was a lengthy process, I appeared with my attorney at all 3 court dates before it was finally reduced to a non moving violation. The court system holds us at higher standards and it’s apparent when fighting a ticket.

Where at in Ohio? If it’s a mayors court in Ohio you should be able to get it to non moving violation. All they want is your money.

So it sounds like yours went to actual trial?

No, it never went to trial. My first appearance the trooper wasn’t there, Alabama allows for the trooper to be contacted I’m guessing, he showed at the second date, and then the ticket was settled at the third appearance. A lengthy process, but really easy actually. The trooper was actually very friendly regarding the whole ordeal, and my lawyer did her job well. Like I’ve said previously, lesson learned.

I live in Indiana so I went over to Bryan, Ohio where I received the speeding ticket on my day off to hire a local lawyer. He obviously took care of everything from there and got the ticket reduced to a 59 in a 55. Chaulked it up as an expensive lesson learned.
