On the eve of my last day in orientation. Its been a decent experience so far. Week one was fairly easy, days seemed kinda long though. Week two was real good, my TE was awesome! Taught me alot and we got along well. The third week has seemed pretty drawn out. Doing the paper work and trip planning and MCP200 stuff over and over. Tomorrow is the big SQT test, our last part of orientation. Most everybody here in Green Bay has been real good folks. And Ive made some good friends with classmates. Was suprized when I got here and saw a guy I went to truck driving school with in Omaha. Small world I guess. Get a ride home with him when we finish (likely tomorrow) which will be a 9 hour drive vs a 19 hour bus ride. Im ready to get home to my gal and my dogs and my house.Few days off, hopefully a motorcycle ride or two. And I should be in my own truck in time to miss Thanksgiving. Im looking forward to getting assigned a rig and set out on my own. Driving truck is something I could see myself doing since I was a kid. Will be working out of the Des Moines OC. If your around there next week and you see a big bald guy in coveralls say hi! Othrwise I will see ya on the road!
SQTs tomorrow!

I just finished my SQT a few hours ago here in Carlisle PA.

Good luck guys! Just keep your eyes open while your out there. Every time I have to listen to the safety message 90% of the accidents are with people working here 6 months or less. A bunch were 30 day or less drivers mostly all hitting fixed objects.

Maybe you're right because lately I've been seeing messages where the driver blames the GPS for him hitting a car lol!

My NAV system is on crack LOL it told me twice in one day to stay straight but the blue line had me taking a left turn. Then downtown Birmingham it told me to turn left after I passed the turn. I was to busy missing street lights and cars to notice the blue line was turning
had to make three rights and a left to get back on track and those were some tight turns too. But if I would of hit something it would of still been my fault. Not sure how the other OC's are set up but when we call in and get put on hold we get safety messages telling us how many accidents we had. The numbers haven't been good lately.
