I had a fault code on my sterling truck that read Icu 140 and then No EG, 1_2.1 and I had lost all power to the truck. I had no accelerator and no power steering as well as the engine shut off. When I tried to restart it it would crank but not turn over all the way. When I had it towed back to our depot and it was still hooked I tried to start it again and it started. After taking it to the mechanic, they mentioned that they didn't find any type of code on the truck at all. I didn't make it up so I know there is something wrong with the truck. After having it a few days they're telling me that they've traced all the wires and haven't really found anything wrong with the truck. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Don't have any truck specifics but this is the way I look at an "incident" such as this, the code ICU 140 *** is an Instrument Control Unit mid designation that probably confirms loss of system electrical power, the fact that the engine quit. These newer trucks are "Electric Trucks" that need 12 volts to operate, SOMETHING caused you to lose main battery voltage somewhere and maybe the mechanic by virtue of simply checking battery cables, fuses, relays or unplugging and re-plugging connections, corrected this condition unknowingly which is what he is supposed to do in this instance, its fixed many a truck...

Definitely look for a fuse between the computer and the battery it is connected to. This will shut truck off it it gets a little corroded. A bump in the road could do it.

Im digging this MOFO from the grave. I have 05 columbia and the same thing happened to me today. Looked everywhere, changed fuel filter i thought it got plugged, and then went to my battery box and moved negative cable and little fuse, and what do you know, SOB started right up. I have this truck since 2011 never had this issue before. Got to keep those connections clean.

With the newer version of trucks all being computerized, sometimes a computer malfunction can cause an issue, if this is the case, try doing this, switch the engine off wait a few minutes, then switch off the power isolation switch leave it off for a lest 3 minutes switch it back on then try starting it this will allow the computer to reboot and sometimes can resolve an issue even temporarily till you can get the workshop to look at it
