With him being reefer, there's a good chance he may have been tired from his schedule possibly being all over the place.
He may just dozed off. It happens a ton out between midland and Abilene, TX. Seems like every week there's trucks on a hillside, flippedjfred2, smitty1087 and magoo68 Thank this. -

There's a hint for all drivers , don't let that ELD or 14 hour clock kill you , if your tired for any reason and there could be many , get some sleep , hate to hear this happening
drvrtech77, mjd4277, austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -

1400 miles a day everyday , no one ever did that .
Why does everything revert back to the same old saw.
Ok I'll go there
If he didn't have an ELD he could have taken a nap and fudged his log book , you feel better now , the driver died so some imaginary driver couldn't drive 1400 miles a day everydayBlackshack46 Thanks this. -
Falling asleep is such a danger. I nearly went of a PA Bridge once. 3pm, sunny day, hot, road and heat hypnotized me. That was 30 years ago, today I still have trouble staying awake between 3 and 4 in the afternoon.
