    Hey guys,

I'm looking at starting a career in trucking and am looking at a position with Straight Shot Express in Green Bay. I've seen Straight Shot mentioned a few times on the forum, but no word on if they are good or bad to work for. Has anyone worked for them?

    Update

I met with them last night to discuss working part time with them. They offered to start me out with vans and teach me how to do logs so I can drive a straight truck once I prove that I can drive without hitting anything. For someone with zero experience or education in trucking, this is very exciting and a way to learn about the industry first hand.

Then, we talked pay. I hadn't researched what it should be, so I asked what he things I should start with. They offered to start me at $8.00/hour, with a move to $9.00/hour once I can drive the straight truck. If the company were closer to me, I would have taken it, but since they dispatch from a place 1.5 hours away on the weekends and taking a vehicle home when I am nearby on Friday is not an option, I think I'm going to pass unless I can convince them to up the pay a bit.

I saw one of their straight trucks this morning and the only thing I could think of was "does that guy really make $9/hour?"
