stupid question before orientation

I wouldn't, as the next day will be spent on drug tests and breathalyzers. Not saying you'll be sloshed for orientation, but is it worth it.
Spend the day studying if you will. Take a nap, sight see. This would be a good start to lay off the few beers because your bored. Out on the road it won't always be available. Just learn now what to do when bored. It'll be about every day from here on out depending on what frieght you're going to haul.

 

Your best not to.The company might have a policy against it and if the staff at the hotel sees empty beer cans or smells it they may call your company.

 

Don't even.

Bored? too bad. Take a walk around the area, hit a movie theater or something.

Drinking beer before a orientation? You crazy? They will ship your ### home so fast....

 

NO NO NO !

 

What will you do when you have downtime in your truck? Certainly can't have beers aboard. Not even NYQUIL. Ya got hobbies. Take a tablet and a hotspot for internet access. Good luck. NO ALCOHOL!!

Three at my orientation decided to have a few beers at the hotel the night after successfully passing the drive test, physical, and drug and alcohol test. They were found out and were checking out to catch a bus ride home the next morning.

Zero tolerance.

 

And rightly so. If one cannot stay sober for even a week they have no business driving a truck.
