Swift Orientation

Ive only posted once here and @Chinatown helped me out a bit.

Got my license in February but got hurt and needed my shoulder fixed before I could start driving.

Anyways I reached out to all the megas that hire in california in my area on Thursday when I got cleared to work.

Western express and Swift contacted me within an hour of me puting my apps in on drivers pulse.

I chose swift.They ran my mvr, background, clearinghouse, dac, and employment on Thursday. Employment was easy because I've only worked one job in the last 15 years and still currently employed there until I know I got this job.

They reached out to me friday with a place to drug test and physical. Sent me a lot of videos to watch. I am sheduled for DQ with them monday. Just drove up 3 hrs and checked into the hotel.

The hotel said no one else is sheduled and I wont have a roommate.

This has moved way faster than I thought it would.

Just wrote all that to tell everyone thank you for the posts here. Even though I dont post I've been reading all this stuff for a couple years now.

This is only a one day thing. Im sure it'll still be a bit for the hair test to come in, I've never done one so idk how long it takes. Sucks going home tommorow after DQ not really know if I got the job.

Not right after. Said it would just be monday and to go home and wait for a call.

They gave me a bunch of stuff to fill out and videos to watch.

Also scanning all my documents and sending that to them. They told me if everything cleared I could be with a trainer as early as friday. But that was from a recruiter so who knows

Im pretty squeaky clean though. Same job forever and clean records.

 

Dry van. Just want something easy to get back into it.

Don't really need a lot of money right now. Mainly the experience.

My wife has a good job and we've done well since I stopped driving in 2010. Everything is paid off except the house and that was bought it 1999 so the morgage is almost done and is really cheap.

The main thing was to get some experience. Alot of things have changed since 2010 when I stopped driving. Just looking for a groove. No plans just see how everything goes.

I did it on my phone while watching YouTube. Most of it seemed like common sense. I used to drive so I didnt really learn anything new.
