They will probably require you to take a physical during orientation. There is a reason why I am telling you to carry your important stuff with you. You're going to be shuffled around for nearly a week. Difficult time. You won't be able to keep your luggage with you, but one small bag will be manageable.
Swift Training: does security go through your stuff ?

You will always get a new physical at orientation. It is one of the first things they do.
Swift doesn't trust any doctor that is not associated with them, or any physical that was done prior to orientation. -
Absolutely no weapons. I don't know about the rest of it, but every single orientation I have ever been, no weapons. Don't even. You are probably going to find other females to run with in orientation most likely, we been working around them since the 70's and all.
To complicate the situation with weapons such as blade or gun, many states do things open or restrictive or none at all. You will find that if you are caught with a weapon, it's off to the pokey for a while. That tends to disrupt your work plans and increases the possibility of violence and drama in your life inside one.
Military Installations are becoming with all other Federal Installations under what is called Enhanced Licensing by 2020 in Arkansas and other states under the Real ID act. If you have not upgraded and passed the security background and got that gold star on your drivers license, you will NOT be permitted entry into either a Military Base, Federal Installation or allowed to board a domestic flight within these United States. -
What knife? That's just a strap cutter. That winch bar however is a skull crusher.
Just keep it reasonable. Stilettos are a big no no. As well as double edged karambits. But a 2-3 inch blade is allowed pretty much everywhere.
And from a training aspect I'd almost be disappointed if students didn't bring a knife or something. They are bloody useful. And indispensable in flatbed anyway.
Anyway. Never had Swift go through my stuff. They will give you a new physical. Part of the drug testing program regardless as required by DOT. They just go ahead and give you a whole physical unlike some companies. -
A knife isn't a weapon. It is a Tool.

Knives are part of the job. Only an idiot would run a truck without a knife.
Legal meds are 1000% ok, as long as they are legal.
If anyone asks to search your bag at a trucking company (without a valid reason) tell them to F off.TripleSix Thanks this.
