2012 International Prostar, my dash toggle switches do not work. They illuminate when lights are on, but if I push the pdl lock, 5th wheel slide, mirror heat etc, the toggle light doe not come on. I had my body controller flashed due to needing updated for my a/c to work again, I have a code of SPN 520462 FMI 9, which I beleive is a switchpack? Where are these switchpacks located and can you reset them test them any way? Or could the 6 toggle switches be bad and need reacing?
That code is for switch pack #2 datalink com failure. If this all started after the reflash, then you need to see if the switch pack is still configured correctly in Diamond Logic Software.
None of these switches worked before the flash on the bcm. I have looked up the part # but they all have a different toggle setup. Does the bcm know which switch on the computer board operates which device you selected? I see a blank toggle panel for sale and was wondering if maybe my computer board in this peice is bad or if its something else.
The first thing to check is if there is power coming from the fuses in the fuse box. Check fuses F5J and F4K the fuse may be missing. If International put two connectors in a fuse slot then there should be a fuse in there. Then check for power between connectors A and B in the 5 pin connector that connects to the switch pack for 12 volts with the key on. Does the truck have power mirrors and power locks and if so do they work? The power window/lock switch uses the same data-link as the switch pack. If the power window/lock switches work then the body module should not be a problem. Normally when there is a data link communication problem with the switch pack when you operate any of the switches with the key on all the green illumination lights in in the switch pack will start flashing. Here are the diagrams you will need to sort it out.
I will check it all today, but yes I have pwr windows and locks, but none of the switches turn green, before I had the bcm flashed, every now and then the pdl lock would flash green light, but not any longer.
The body controller will be programmed to how the switches are set up in the switch pack. The switch layout can be seen with Diamond Logic Builder software, DLB. Your first step is to make sure the body controller is programmed correctly to how the switches are in the truck and then troubleshoot from there. If you need to replace the switch pack, you only get an empty pack with the circuit board. You then have to transfer your toggle switches and LEDs to the new pack.
