Don't leave your truck doors or windows open in the parking area there. The rice fields around the DC breed millions of mosquitos.

I work for a produce company now and all or most of our orders are palletized according to stops i hear that sysco is nothing like that you gotta get in and dig it all out so im anxious to see and experience that part

I drive for DOT Foods and deliver to them, so I don't know much about how Sysco operates. I do know that I like dealing with all of their staff at all of the warehouse facilities that I have been to in the state. I have been to Sacramento several times. Often times I get to see how the other companies load trucks, but usually the Sysco trucks are all out by the time I get there to deliver.
When I drove for Alliant Foods (now US Foods) we ramp unloaded and the best thing I can tell you to carry is a can of flat fix for your hand truck. If you get a flat in the middle of unloading its a pain if you cant fix it and have to continue unloading. Good non-slip sole working boots like Wolverines are needed also, especially for unloading in the rain or for when you have breakage in the trailer (like oil based products). Good gloves, flashlight, etc.

I received alot of orders from sysco and for the most part it was stacked by stop or by product with tags to let the driver know who it went to. but you will have to dig around if something is missing. that being said once you learn what each product looks like it wont be hard. in fact you'll be telling the customer what is what. good luck get a back belt. and maybe cat litter to soak up spills.

I'm an order selector at sysco aka guy who pulls orders u will be delivering. Each pallet has certain stops on them some will have the same stops really depends on the selector n how many stops it is to how much u will have to dig for crap.. We have guys who say each pallet only has 1 zone n they put it anywhere on pallet. Also sometimes u will find a higher stop case on lower stop pallet cause loader put it there to make it fit on trailer.. I know cause I help out loading sometime. Will have a pallet with 120cases on it 9ft tall trying go into a 7ft tall trailer isn't gonna make it!!

Digging through the pallets is the worst part of working at sysco. Are you gonna be a resident driver or driving right out of a warehouse? If your a resident driver be prepared for pallets to bu dumped over every once in a while. Sometimes during the shuttle from the warehouse to the resident site they get dumped
