    Greetings all!

I am a recent graduate from driving school (IITR Medford, OR) and have some Schneider questions:

Is the bonus program achievable? Many companies have incentive programs but no one ever seems to qualify. How is Schneider's?

How is the maintenance on the equipment? I know breakdowns are part of the business but...

As a noob, I will start at .26 cpm. With the way they break up what is taxed and what is considered per diem does it work?

If I go with Schneider, I will be in the Western 11. Any comments or advice would be welcomed!

    Thanks! :biggrin_255:

I am starting orientation on Saturday. I can't answer many of your questions, but with per diem, I was told it was mandatory to enroll in it for the first 90 days, then after that you have the option to opt out. Also, you must be running a different schedule than me, I am straight out of school and I am starting at .29 cpm, maybe cause it is a different part of the country???

    Good luck.

I heard there trucks don't have APU'S.I might be mistaking them with an another company but I think it was SNI.Also heard there very tough on idling.

That is correct they do not have apu's but they do have in-cab heaters for wintertime if you need it. They only tax half of your mileage pay and the other half is perdiem. So, If you make .26 cpm, on your statements, you will see your miles listed twice once as taxed at .125/mile and the other set untaxed at .125/mile. Also, if you have any accessorial pay for detention or other stuff that is also taxed. At least that is how mine is split up. Hope this answers your questions.

Trucking companies that take newbies and have APU's on their trucks are few and far in-between.
