As I pulled back into the yard Friday after finishing my route, I noticed one of our shuttle drivers unwrapping his load. I was MT, so when I got backed into the barn I went over to help fold his tarps. Much to my surprise, in the short time that it took me to park he already had his first tarp folded and neatly rolled and was rolling up the other. I asked how he managed to get done so quickly, and he showed me a bungee contraption on the rail. Apparently he hooks the D rings on one end of a tarp to it and somehow shakes it into shape, but since he already had the second tarp folded I didn't get to see it in action.

Anyone familiar with this method? He was folding steel tarps. I'm no stranger to folding a tarp, but this fellow did two faster than I can do one and they looked good. I'm always looking for new tips that make my life easier. If anyone can give me a little more detail on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

don't know how, but i'm thinking he bungeed the tarp to the trailer. so that he only had to pull the other side to straighten it out. instead of constantly walking around the 4 corners. once straight. he started his fold.

be interesting to see other answers. i'm all for less sweat.

Flatbedding wouldn't have been so bad for me if it weren't for those tarps. They weigh more then I do.

Haha try to find an old TMC driver who knows how to hang the chains in the mandatory company fashion before they had enclosed cab shields.

I think that was left side to right side cross in the center, Never drove for them, but thinking that was the way it was or was it right side to left side?
