It's a violation not OOS though

Check switch if you accidentally turned tc off it lights up dash. If traction control had a issue it would likely be a abs sensor which would show a fault as well..tc light alone wouldn’t be a dot issue IMO

 

I was thinking ABS was on as well with the TC light, so I believe you are right if just the TC light is on, it's not a violation.

 

I don’t think abs light is a violation either. Last time I read the regulations it just said the light had to work and come on for a few seconds when you turn on the key.

 

I had this problem and it was a speed sensor that was a snap to replace.
