Can anyone here tell about team driving. Like how is the pay broken down for team company? What about teaming with a lease operator?
Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

If there is a thread for this, please send me there! :)

    mje Thanks this.

Usually teams "split" an amount per mile. Say 40 cents. So each person will get 20 cents per mile.

Some companies (like FFE) will pay each team driver according to experience. (up to the normal amount)

Some O/O will pay mileage, and some will pay percentage.
I know some that pay 20cpm for all miles truck runs as TEAM.

I am a lease operator and my partner "works for me".
I split the profit (after expenses) with her 50/50.
She does HALF the work, so she deserves half the rewards.
It's just like we are both leasing the truck instead of just one name.

    mje Thanks this.

Yes I do want Prime information. But thanks for the information. I am trying to gather as much information so that my husband can make an informed decision before TNT is over. He has been asked to team with one of his buddies, that is why I ask.

ChuckTaylor posted something on how the company side split is made... I don't recall which thread. As far as L/Os are concerned it's however the two individuals decide to split the net... usually they go 50-50 on expenses and revenue; and that would require a partnership agreement to make things right for the IRS.

    Team goes as follow
    Company drivers

    Lead seat gets .21 CPM
    2nd seat is .19 CPM

    LEASE teams

.12 CPM prime pays and the rest is determined by the lease operator.

I team and here is how I do it as a Lease Operator

    Prime Pays .12 CPM with a W2
    I pay .08 CPM with a 1099

    Charlami and mattswife Thank this.

you can guarantee Prime will back up their part. But from what I hear, they wash their hands of any problems if the LO has problems keeping his end of the pay agreement.
