I'm 100% sure if no inspection no CSA points/ issues. For you or the authoritie. FYI an over weight ticket never goes against the CSA or Authority...don't stress pay it and move on. California is not an easy state to fight it yourself...and the blood sucking lawyer will be at least 500.00. Yes it blows big time on top of a tow and the bruise to your ego etc....you sound like a good driver it happens

He got the ticket in wa state it is not hard over there to change to non moving violations, i did many time in Seattle. Also it will show on his record an accident and ticket..

Luckily, almost all the damage is bumper height and lower. Some body/mechanical damage, truck was nondriveable.NavigatorWife and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Sucks. I'm sure the lasting psychological damage will be worse for you than the ticket or the truck.
Did you call OOIDA and get their opinion?
I'm not advising you by any means, but I know an attorney can eat up a lot of money, even for something mundane, not to mention the time involved.
$136?? Me, I'd give them the extortion money, and keep moving. Unless you feel it's really gone jack your insurance that bad.
Good luck.NavigatorWife and JReding Thank this. -

Sorry. Thought it was Cali. I really wonder what will go on his CDL. Few years ago I got stuck going up a hill in PA and the rig actually started to slide backwards so I angled the trailer to the side of the road thinking the rumble strips would stop the backwards slide and it did. But then I couldn't pull it out because of it being slippery and kinda at a weird angles. 911 shows up wrecker comes they get me out and over the hill. No ticket nothing ever showed on my CDL. I wasn't an O/O then and the company I was working for didn't put it on my DAC. It did take me 2 days to re stack the beer load as it shifted when the tow yanked me out. I have found most LED to be pretty fair out here.
