I would like to formally thank everyone for the worst advice ever. I took advice from seasoned drivers to be honest about a public intoxication case that was dismissed in court. It didn't even show up on my background check, but I told them to be honest and now I have been denied the apprentice program to work for prime. Even though it was the case was dismissed!
thanks

sooo if you have been a trucker for 8 yrs--why do you need the apprentice program?
maybe--have a drink and calm down
wasnt the other peoples fault that you got drunk -
You did the right thing by telling Prime up-front. Prime is the one you should be angry with. They should not have had an issue with your situation expecially since you were honest and upfront with them.
Gears Thanks this. -
I have not been driving for 8 years. where did you get that from? And I dont drink, I am a latter day Saint. we do not drink! I was arrested for association. Then the case was dismissed in court.

Your info says you are from Acampo,Ca. and you have been a trucker for 8 Years.

Dang man that sux to hear. You did the right thing though by being honest telling them up front. Look at it this way, it's their loss. Fill out some more applications, they aren't the only company out there, and someone will look past that and hire/train you. Good luck!

There is no way this can get on a dac report right? My problem I dont have the money for training, I need a company sponosored program...
-
Honestly imo I wouldn't mention it. You were never charged and it was dismissed why let the cat out of the bag if you don't need to.
-
I would check into Swift and Central Ref. I know they aren't ideal situations for everyone, there are good and bad stories about both companies on here but I think they both offer company sponsored training. I know Central uses Truck Driving Academy here in the valley.

If you haven't been a driver for 8 years you should change your status/profile.
And as far as bad advice goes, it wasn't. You were guided in the right direction with honestly as your course.
Its unfortunately that you were turned down though. Id advise you to continue to be honest, better to be turned down 100 times, and get the 101th job then to lie and them find out, fire you and then put that on your DAC.
If you are as you claim , then lying isn't an option. Good luck.Gears Thanks this.
