Greetings,
I was wondering how the other new drivers are handling this. With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence, when an application and/or resume is submitted to a company, some of those human resource departments use software that scans all of the submissions for keywords that will trigger a response. If your application or resume does not have those keywords, your submission basically deleted.
Now obviously, my resume/application isn't going to have the keywords that they are looking for. As of right now I have only applied to two companies and that's because they had recruiters that visited my school and I had their contact information and messaged them to look out for my application.
A lot of these companies make it difficult to contact someone to ask about the status of an application.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Some tech savvy drivers use the white ink or print to insert key words. White makes the words invisible to the human eye, but can be read by computer.

I can't speak to AI and resumes.
Almost every decent size company has a head of recruiting. Even small ones will have someone in charge of it all. Call the company's mainline ask to talk to person in charge of recruiting. Ask your questions and roll on with what you hear. DON'T BE AFRAID to call, email, fax, etc. If YOU don't talk to someone, you may not get the job.
Others will be along with advice.tscottme, bryan21384, lual and 1 other person Thank this. -
I heard about this, I've just never been able to do it.
It makes a lot of sense, since like you said, a computer can read it, but not a person.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Probably one of the AI websites can explain it. Grok or whatever the names are.strider1500 Thanks this.

Personally -- I think you are overthinking this process...& by a considerable amount.
Starter carriers know you don't have any big rig driving time yet -- so instead, they hire rookie drivers, based (in part, at least) on:
- Employment history
- Driving history (clean)
- Criminal history (clean)
- Already have a class "A" CDL
- Any relevant endorsements
- Appropriate age
- Further distinguish you -- from other rookie applicants, who don't have them
- Show potential employers that you're serious -- & you mean business
- Show potential employers that you are teachable, & more willing to learn...than other applicants without them
If AI is as big a deal as you think it is....having "hazmat" & "tanker" on your application should indeed start to open some doors.
It did for me....

Excellent, thanks for that explanation.

Don’t even bother with those companies…. If they have AI involved in hiring process than they will pay you slave wage 100%…. Don’t contribute to poverty and look for a better company.strider1500 and Numb Thank this.

Relax. It's Thanksgiving week. Ain't nobody doing a #### bit of work. Nobody is going to even think about hiring and talking to prospective drivers til thus upcoming Monday. At that point, then you call and get answers.
strider1500 Thanks this. -
On top of that, Monday is the first day of deer season.
