Any of you drivers with SNI live in TX? i live in houston, currently been with prime OTR for 8months now and it is starting to wear me thin! i am 22 and simply put, want to be home more often.
i spoke with a SNI recruiter and they offer for my area 6days out 3days in which would be perfect for me. anyone doing this? i would like to know how well are they about actually getting you home and/or are their times where you have to be out longer... i was also offered to be home for my 34hr restart each week which is also a good option for me... i think she said my starting pay would be 32cpm which would be a 7cent decrease in pay but to be home more i wouldn't mind. besides, i've had several talks with my dispatcher, (this is my second dispatcher) i've only seen more than 2300miles ONCE...its just not worth it to be away from home 4weeks at a time...
    thanks drivers.

I would check on some of those oil rig driving jobs down your way. They make good money. Closer to home. I wouldn't listen to a recruiter.

From everything I've read on here, Schneider seems to treat their drivers pretty good. If your on a 6/3 rotation then of course your restart will be at home. Also any kind of rotation like that means your sharing a truck with a few drivers, so I would think they run pretty close to schedule. Not sure about how much money you would make working that kind of rotation but you will get home.

So you have 8 months experience and Prime is paying you .39 a mile? Didn't realize new drivers were paid that well at Prime.

yes 8 cents of that is per diem of course so actually making 31cpm with prime... the problem that i have is MILES... @39cpm making on average 21-2200 miles a week, the checks aren't a big WOW for the work and time away from home. i was expecting to making at least 1000 a week being away as much as i am...i am willing to settle for a pay cut to be home more

Dude. In today's world, you like won't see any more miles with Schneider. Especially on a 6 day dispatch schedule.

Find a company that pays percentage. Only way to fly IMO. I don't count miles anymore. I just count the loads.

although i did get the option to train, my DISPATCHER said that would be a sure way to see more money and to get a bigger truck.:biggrin_2556:

I leave next sunday for orientation. My instructor at the college I got my cdl from used to be a trainer for them for 6 years and said they were a good company. I know I'm going to deal with all the newbie bs but overall I think they are the best choice. Let me know how your adventures go if you go with them

6/3 blows. At least where I'm based out of. It would probably help if the other 2 drivers this schedule is supposed to have we matched up with me. It works like this 3 drivers between 2 trucks. Theory says its easier for planners to get you home. I've been home on time ONCE. So when they say they try to get you home when requested , put your hipwaders on. BS. They will get you home when freight dictates, not a second sooner. The petals are starting to fall from the rose.
