I spoke to a very knowledgeable recruiter today and giving alot of consideration to Roehl but there are some questions I forgot to ask and thought maybe someone here could help. I've had my CDL for two years but very little exp so I must go back through the 160 hr school in Marshfield. Can anyone tell me how this school is? Hotel ? Success rate? Also, anything else important about the company will help in my decision. I am considering refer as it makes since with the economy that people will still need to eat so freight should be good. The recruiter said approx 2,300 miles per week.

very knowledgeable recruiter???.. hmmm.. Since you already have your cdl you should call back and ask if you take a refreasher course are you hireable. They are half the expense and half the time. Sounds to me like they are trying to run you thru the school when you really do not need too. Unless you really feel you need it but if you half way know how to drive already and you got your cdl thru a school already then you know the first 80 hours of that school will be a waist of your time. Time that could be spent making money. If they won't accept a refreasher then keep your options open there are a lot of other ones that will.

very knowledgeable recruiter????? know how to tell when a recuiter is lying??
-
Yeah start with the company and find out 80% of what he said was BS to get you in the door

Make sure u weigh the pro/cons before you make a decision

The way you know a recruiter is lying is that his lips are moving.
One positive about Roehl is that even in the van division we handle a lot of household consumables. When people go from toilet paper to corn cobbs to wipe their butts I'll get worried about loads. I am on the 7/4-7/3 hometime and I have been averaging just over 1500 miles per pay period since the first of the year. They also expect you to run legal.
What I don't like is they are very anal and want to drive your truck for you. About a year ago they had just added the reefer division and many of the drivers were saying it was a mess. I don't know if things have improved or not.
