From what Ive read on the forum, they seem like a decent company.y. in the local paper they have an ad for training through TDI. I LAN on calling tomorrow. Would they be a good choice for a new driver?
Thinking about Schneider.

Sure, I have checked them and several more out. It all depends on what your looking for in a company.
Me, i'm looking for regular hometime. Schneider and Roehl have what I want in their 14/7 program. Both have starting pay of around 35k per year pulling vans.
I've heard/read good things about McElroy Truck lines, Watkins Shepard, Conway and TMC.
Mcelroy and TMC are flatbeders that pay a little more but I just think about a tarp, New york or any place up north in the wintertime at around 20 degrees. NO THANK YOU. lol
At the bottom of the page you will find Forum Jump. From there you can read up on all the different companies. Do your homework, research, most of your questions have already been answered by someone on here.
When talking to a recuriter if his lips are moving he may be lying... lol
If I or anyone can help with a question, just ask.
Good luck. -
I've been researching the forum for the last year. Read that Schneider only hires drivers where they are needed. I'd stronlgy consider mcelroy, maverick and Boyd but I can't afford schooling. And Schneider and Conway Truckload seem to havve the best paid company training.

Check with your local unemployment office. You may be able to get the training paid for. Also if your prior military out less than 10 years, Uncle Sam will foot the bill.
I'm paying $2795 cash, for my school so don't get taken in. $3900 is not bad but more than that is crazy.
Also a local tech school should have a program that you could get funding for, but I think most are 10 week course. -
I tried that and got denied, because I make too much. I work full time, and can't afford to be unemployed for to long, even training pay isn't much its enough to cover the bills I do have plus a little extra.
