I guess eh. That was part of the reason I stopped wrenching on trucks and switched to equipment a couple years back. Too many guys could care less about the mechanical condition of their trucks. Just as long as the wheels turned they were happy.

Usually rip one off a few times per year, upside to carrying tools I can bolt it back in place in a few minutes. Colorado is kind of ##*l about mudflaps, I hate those d**n $56 no mudflap tickets they give out.

I cringe when I have to get new tires. I don't like my wheels not matching, and God only knows what our crack team of parts changers will replace them with. A 5 hole budd wheel on one steer and a 2 hole on the other is just stupid looking.

I was gonna ask the same thing. Is that part of the deal with leaving for work in the morning?

A pretrip is what you do to pass the inspection part of your license test. You do it again when you start with a new company. Next you do it when you have been away from your truck for vacation or when the company moves you to a new truck. Finally, you become an Owner Operator and for some reason, now that their is no one to fire you for not doing it, you do it everyday before you start out.

Reminds me of the England driver I saw at Lodi Cal last summer .
He hit the off ramp at the j with about half the trailer roof draped along the trailer wall flapping in the wind .
Then backed into a spot , yanked the curtains shut and never got out of the truck .diesel drinker, Lepton1, scottied67 and 1 other person Thank this.
