This actually happened to me a few years ago, before I knew better. I took the picture in my driver mirror while I was off in the emergency lane.

As I went down the road my trailer was physically bending. It was flexing back and forth a few feet either way. It looked like a cat’s tail with every bend in the road. Full disclosure, I had a max gross load of flat steel that took up the middle third of my deck. I called the office and talked to the old guy who’d been with my company since the 70’s. He’s seen everything and he told me the error of my ways.

…..It’s late. I’m tired. I’ll be back tomorrow with more photos and the explanation. In the meantime, one of you old school guys that’s seen it all tell ‘em where I screwed up.

I'm not a flatbedder but I'm guessing the load should have been further forward?

I've never seen anything like that before, but I'd hazard a guess that the weight was concentrated over too small of an area, just in front of the tandems?

    Coffey Thanks this.

It’s not center loaded on the trailer. Referring side to side.

Weight is too concentrated, I had a 3 axle dtl3000 transcraft step that would do that with 72000 machine in8 ft, not a good feeling. My reitnouer does not do that at all. I always considered the trailers that act like that were not made very well.
