Please do not try to convince me with mathematics. I participate in these academical discussions for kicks mostly.
I do know how life works and what is or is not realistic. I am of an opinion that everyone should literally mind their own business and focus on what works best for them.
I don't even hate brokers, but I would rather squeeze them vs the opposite.
Opposite forces are in a constant wrestle. I oppose their cut, they oppose mine. When they use below belt punch tactics, I'll do the same. Mother nature will decide.

A young man that is like my grandson got his first job out of college with a big broker, that I will not name.
He came by to visit on his way to his new job.
We talked a lot about his new job, they explained to him their business model, get all the loads the can and sell them( broker out) for a little as they can move them, now after some time on the job he tells me story’s about dealing with stupid drivers, cheap freight draws the trucks that are the least reliable. He could already Wright a book of excuses.

Most people on here seem to think brokers are sitting in a recliner at home in their underwear with a cheap computer and a bottle of whiskey, or in other words no overhead.

 

Yes, they're making money off the ability to provide capacity so the shipper doesn't have to have their broker department, this #### isn't hard to understand.

 

Does nobody remember what James Lamb did before this? Am I the only one that thinks it’s funny that now all the owners are lining up behind him because he’s leading the charge to get them more money?

 

And the big hated ones that get all the freight, are bidding and locking into contracts for tremendous capacity on a quarterly basis. If the economy changes fast they might be coming out of pocket on thousands of loads for months on end.

Anyone taking 'your cheeze' is easy to hate on if you focus on just the sensational profiteering stories on the internet.

 

Yeah, elect a crook to lead you against the other crooks.

It’s going to be a while for rates to rebound. Probably a couple of years. It’s going to be one heck of a recession.
