The point is , it will happen again , like it always does. But yet nobody is crying or complaining . Only in the bad times.
This might get interesting?

If the drivers refused to move for say $ 10 a mile, how long would it take before the government stepped in?

I say this out of my own will and I hope to be strong enough to fulfill my promise. -

If brokers are forced to state the rate they got paid, they will get underbid on everyone of those contracts until all you have left are mega brokers making pennies by Walmarting the industry. And the only trucks on the road will be the ones that can afford to operate at .90 a mile. No one could afford a new truck, so the big truck manufacturers would be cutting all kinds of costs and putting out bigger turds than they already are.
And for those living in a fantasy thinking they can organize and agree to not pull for less than a certain rate...good luck with that.
I didn’t buy a truck to join a union.
It’s supply and demand of a free market. It’s a beautiful thing. Google it. If you’re drowning, learn to swim. In the very least, learn to tread water til wave comes back.GraniteRiver, PSM379, PoleCrusher and 9 others Thank this. -

There are many articles on this lately especially with the AB5 B.S. in the courts right now. The reason the Teamsters are so gung ho about AB5 is because it is illegal for those independent contractors to join a union and that kept the Teamsters at bay. -
I for one don't begrudge a counting house their cut. As long it's not the devils cut you see. -
There is no possible law that can be created for a collective thought crime if so many made a conscious decision to tell the brokers as a whole to take their .90 a mile load and stick it. Any more than you can tell say 500,000 People not to visit the beach.
The entire industry has been consuming itself for decades. wages are still in the 30's after 40 years and rates are not much better. at some point it must fail should it continue down this path. 200,000 dollar tractor trailers are very expensive along with insurance.
