I'm sitting in the truck, online at TTR, when a guy walks around my truck excited. He waves at me, "Hey did you get yours? There's a guy that just hit for $30 mil and he's giving every driver here a hundred dollars. C'mon!"

    No thanks. I have money.

im in the middle of the parking lot. There were several guys behind my trailer. I get out to check my load, and you guessed it, 3CardMonte. They just got finished hustling some poor sap and they see me, " Hey man! This guy just won the lottery!" The guy in the middle has a roll of bills surrounded by a hundred dollar bill.

I shake my head and walk away. The guy that's parked next to me ask what they're doing behind the trailers, and I say, "Three Card Monte". "Did they get you?" Nope. This ain't my first rodeo.

Anyways, people, be realistic. You never see a lottery winner come to the truckstop to give money away. Some of you guys are old school and know how to out hustle these chumps. There had to be at least 5 of them. You sure you want to have a 5 on 1 confrontation without Mr Smith and Mr Wesson? Just avoid them. I'd rather you give your money to that middle class guy that's pretending to be homeless with the 'hungry, please help.god bless' sign.

I've seen that exact scam several times at different truck stops. Anyone who is dumb enough to fall for it deserves to have their money taken.

The last time I saw that was at Petro in Knoxville. Hard to believe but some drivers there were falling for it.

Hence why I started this thread.. I'd rather see someone give their money to the wheel polishers and the drunks. The first time I'd ever seen it was at the Hook on the 465 at Indianapolis back in the late 80s. Same line, exact same scam...may even be the same people.

call me naive but im amazed that this goes on. I figured they would just take whatever they wanted at will verses cheating someone out of it via scams

Indy T/A last week, I walked away.

If I won a bunch of money at a casino,(Part of their story), the last thing I'd do is be telling people at a truck stop about it.

Currently work in the lottery industry and have been for 7 years. Last thing anything should do is go around screaming or making it public they won a lot of cash, even less so in the #### ghetto
