Seen that done around my home with meat. Always two guys with several cooler of frozen steaks that were "left over on their truck".

I don't even gamble in legit casinos. Odds are not your favor. And lottery, casinos, gambling is still a sin. I don't care if it's for 'the children' or 'scholarships'. A sin is a sin.
Plenty o' hypocrites here around the bible belt fer sure!D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
As you know, I ran banks in Nigeria for 19 years. Nigeria is one of the very best countries at separating a fool from his money. They do many bank scams and oil scams.
I attended a church meeting here where there was a visiting Methodist Preacher. He mentioned during the sermon that he did missionary work in Africa. So my ears perked up. I talked to him after the service and told him I lived in Nigeria. He asked me, all excited, if I could get oil out of Nigeria. The NNPC is their oil company and they shared our building. So, yes, I can get oil out of Nigeria and I have many times. He then asked me if I could get oil out of Nigeria for $4 a barrel less then the world market. He had been scammed. The $4 discount is the shipping cost between Africa and Europe. They had convinced him that he would be making the $4. They had even prayed over him. Surely no one would pray and lie at the same time. He worked on the deal and at the last second there was someone who needed a bribe to let it work out. He had to come up with $250,000 to pay off some one. So he borrowed the money from the churches funds. He would pay it off when the big money got there. I explained to him he had been robbed and had robbed the church. He did not believe me.
The Bank transfer scam is one where you are told they have millions to transfer to your account. You give them your account information and guess what, you account is emptied. Many folks have lost millions to that.
Most scams have one thing in common. You are being offer money for nothing. You cannot scam an honest man is so very true.
Of course the scam I see most here is, sign on this line and you will get a new truck and trailer for no money down. The Lease Purchase Scam.Itsbrokeagain, Gearjammin' Penguin, QuietStorm and 6 others Thank this. -
He didn't "borrow" the money from the church. He embezzled it. This is why no single person should be responsible for the funds of a non profit organization. One would think that a church that has $250,000 readily avaiable for investment purposes would have a committee to oversee those funds.
Also, the 250K was being used not as an investment but rather as a payoff or bribe. That in itself is illegal. Sounds to me like the good reverend needs to do some time in the slam. He clearly has issues with the 8th Commandment.Gearjammin' Penguin, Lepton1 and Wooly Rhino Thank this. -
It's all slight of hand, like a magic trick. They can get pretty elaborate with the ruse. All the "winners" are in on it.
-
Yeah, but the 3CM is a beautiful thing to see, from a magician's POV.
It may be the simplest sleight of hand move ever, but it's fiendishly difficult to learn well enough to fool everybody, all of the time, including those who are equally proficient at performing it.
