Is that the outfit I have been hearin about with the huge reload near Weyburn? The one Im thinkin of was Stoughton based I think tho...

They are ok. They were doing Plains work couple summers ago. That stopped b/c they were bought by a competitor I believe.
They must expanding, I see them pulling more "bullets". -
Who owned them before? I see Marvin is still there - although from Safety guy to "manager".
We have pulled for plains for the past 2 years. -
That's what I was told this fall when I was gonna go back to Plains.

They are a competitor to us, the one at stoughton is Goudy. 3 * is pretty reasonable for us drivers but if your pulling Canada they really underbid to keep busy, some pipeline company bought them this summer and I hear they are relaxing some the really bad nickel and dime charges and ghost charges they were famous for.

I worked for them. I was on the "plains" run. Every spring in Saskatchewan the roads get 10,000lbs road bans so you cant even bobtail down them, so literally the whole fleet shuts down, they lose alot of o/o during this time as they only care about their company trucks. Plains can only haul short loads (25m3 instead of 30m3) down that grid to their redjacket facility therefor they subcontract out three star trucking to haul in order to keep up during spring. after the road bans down south lift then the three star trucks dissapear. while they are working rumors spread that plains bought them out and after of course, truckers are like schoolgirls so more rumours spread.
Three star like I said cares alot more about their company trucks than o/o. I remember many days where leased ops were all sitting but there wasnt a company truck in the yard, they tend to have a large turnover, my orientation consisted of 8 o/o + company guys, I now see many of those guys running for other companies. Their shop never had the time to help you out ever, and could give a crap ( which is the case with alot of companies) and you couldnt start work untill the dispatchers got in at 6am then they would say were all caught up for the day at around 5 or 6pm. I worked for them for a o/o before I bought my own trucks a year and a half ago, I would never put my trucks on with them ever. The only plus side was they did treat you real nice in the office, more like family than a number but to me $$$$ is the number I want.
