How much MPG difference? Enough to off set the decreased miles you get out of a set of steers instead of lugs?

definately. over 1 m.p.g. or about that. that is comparing kelly kda lug to steelmark steer. the problem was with the better m.p.g. tires, you really dont notice the savings, cause you spend it as you save it. so if you save $40- $80 a week in fuel cost, you really dont notice it unless you have the same paycheck every week, but when you go to buy all 8 tires at once then you notice that. so although I knew the hwy tread saved me more $$ I hated having for fork over the money so soon after my last set, so I went with the lugs. wish I would of stayed with the steer type. lugs will last a lot longer & they are harder to penetrate,(less flats) but cost more in m.p.g. this was my experience.

Switching my old FLD from all-position tires to drive tires cost me 1/2 mile per gallon...
