    I am looking for an independent plate program. Currently, my husband works for XPO and is working under their plate program. It's $63 a week. Are there other inexpensive programs that he might qualify for?

    Just get your own plate, it is cheap and you can move to another company without any issues.

    You will have to go to Nashville to the Department of Revenue to setup your account and get your plate the first time.

    You have to set up a IRP account to get your plate. If you're a new account and using estimated mileage your first year, it's around 2000.00.

    Is that $2000 a one-time payment or is it due yearly? Are there anymore fees after that?

    It may be a little less after the first year, the first year is higher because they estimate the apportioning of the taxes.
