I switch trailers a lot. I've always tried what you mentionef first, and turned the switch (if you have one) on and off othe dash, sometimes its just the switch. also check electrical connections near tandems. seems the truck im in sends false signals. If all else fails, I have it checked by a shop. I see the abs light more then traction.

shops seem to have a diffcult time pin pointing the problem. the last time I decided to have a shop check out a abs light it turned out to be a bad spindle.

usually an indication the system is not working.

ABS will blink on mine if i use a rental trailer, rather than my regular one.

traction control is only for the tractor.

have a mechanic check it out, could be something as simple as a sensor that is dirty or broken.

I was issued a 2014 T680 with a switch (on/off) to enable and disable traction control in may of the year 2013.
