tractor speed limits

I love it when I courteously pass a Mega-carriers BRAND NEW volvo or Feightliner with my 27 year old cabover....with NO air Conditioning (dont ask me how fast it goes...YET)

They are like "How is he faster than me?"

Then......If they get Pissy with me once I pass them Safely I'll slow down just a touch so they can catch me....Then they think they are Slick because they have the Cruise control on and shoot out into the left lane and try to pass me......

So I accelerate and catch them Window to Window,.....I'll get on the Radio and say.."slow down..Your not going to pass me"

Makles em madder than anything.........Then I mAy say.. "Ok go ahead..You can pass me if you want"



Ya know.......It kinda makes me feel like Im policing the industry in a way...........

 

I just enjoy dropping the hammer and goin "She may be alittle old and burn a touch of oil, but she still runs"

 

My pal from hirschbach drives a 2014 prostar. the governor used to be at 65 mph, now he has 68 mph (cause he wants to deliver loads on time)

 

Thats what I miss about my old truck when I first put her out on the road. She sure wasn't much to look at then, which its not a show truck now. We did get some looks from a few BIG TRUCKS as we sickle right on by.

 

My favorite truck at Pepsi was a 1987 Ford F700 with a 3208 Cat turbo. Borrowed it one week while my regular pos was at Caterpillar. Would do 76 mph flat out at 2700 rpm and was so freaking loud while doing so listening to the radio was pointless. My boss rode with me on my route for one day which was a lot of highway and he stopped trying to do business on his cell until we stopped, lmao.

 

Yeah, why make money in your fast old relic, when you can harass drivers in governed trucks. I bet you can find some School Buses to show off around?

Does your Pal think going from 65 to 68 is really going to get him to his destination that much faster? Really? LOL

 

That was the limit when they purchased those prostars to the company. The company asked international to remove it, they refused it. They only placed him maximum 68 mph. Nothing wrong going in 70 mph speed limits in oh and in.
