I should run an ad, in your area!! I’ve seen some high priced Pete’s and W9s, lately. I wonder what’s selling. At least he has a Market. Dealers never want to pay anything. Had a WS Dealer tell Me how good Resale was on his new 97 yet offered Me $8 k for my 92. Lol
Trade in program for old rig?

I'll give you 18 cash. The others just want to overpay. Trucking is all about prices.
feldsforever and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
If that truck is that nice, unless you are going out of business, you will regret selling it.

Rideandrepair, jsnell and Tiani Thank this. -
id keep it if i was you. of course i like older iron and don't really care that much about fuel economy...lol
pre eld pre emmissions. down time on the new stuff is a bigger killer than what 1mpg will cost you.Rideandrepair, ChevyCam, OldeSkool and 7 others Thank this. -

Nothing wrong this is more of a logger truck not meant for long light weight runs
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I assume the truck you have now is paid for, or at least owe very little. You may gain a little in mpg, but you’ll also have interest and higher insurance with a new truck. One has to wonder if you will gain anything.
Also consider that if a paid for truck breaks down, it’s not that big of a deal. If a new truck with a big payment breaks down, even if the repair is covered under warranty, you’re still sitting at home, waiting on the dealer to fix your truck, and making that big payment. I’ve seen several instances where somebody buys a new truck on a shoestring, truck breaks down and is in the shop for a month or more, and it eventually causes them to go broke.kenn2632, Rideandrepair, ChevyCam and 5 others Thank this. -
I'm guessing that fine W9 gets a whopping 5 mpg, and that's on a good day with a tail wind. That truck was built for the left lane. Running 100,000 miles a year ( conservative estimate) you burn up 20,000 gallons of fuel a year @ $2.65 per gallon comes out to $53,000 per year in fuel cost.
A truck spec'ed for fuel economy that gets 7 mpg would burn through 14,285 gallons per year. At $2.65 a gallon - $37,857.00. A savings of $15,143.00 per year or nearly 6 months of truck payments @$3,000 per month.Rideandrepair, ChevyCam, Aamcotrans and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yea, about the time you see the light at the end of the tunnel on those "new truck speced for fuel mileage" payments, you start eating downtime due to the "normal" emissions issues. You can spend the money on fuel or new truck payments, either way the money ends up somewhere other than your pocket.Rideandrepair, stillwurkin, OldeSkool and 3 others Thank this.

5 or less mph can kill the avg freight hauler today.
But as a 2nd truck that will only pull 16,000lbs max and no more than 50,000 miles a year. It's good to go.
So what is the realistic price you want for it?
What is the site unseen, I will over night the cash to a friend who lives in Jacksonville to bring to you no haggle price?Last edited: Feb 10, 2020
