Just purchased a trailer and every time I apply the brake pedal the abs light comes on in the dash. If it is a situation where I'm braking slightly harder I can feel the trailer brakes pulsing and it will make the trailer bounce up and down like it should if the abs were needed but it isn't needed. Once I release the brake and take off the light will go back off. Outside of a speed sensor issue is there any other things to look for? I feel like I read somewhere about people having to move some of the wiring around on the trailer???? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem on a rental trailer but no ABS light. When I put on new brakes it would do the same thing but the ABS lights would come on every once In awhile. Luckily I returned the trailer and did not have to figure it out. Has it had new brakes installed on it?

They are the brakes that were on it when I got it and they are in really good shape. The trailer I had before didn't have abs so I'm not really sure what else to look for.

The brakes I had on that trailer was the bigger ones for mountains. I believe that was the problem but not sure on it. Wish I knew more to help you out.

No problem. I believe these are regular sized brakes so I'll keep looking for answers.

You have trailer ABS module power supply wire broken somewhere. Normally ABS module powered thru central wire on pigtail. When you turn ignition key on it should be a trailer ABS lamp blink. If normal power supply is out ABS module has emergency supply from brake lights.

So it should be hot at the module when plugged in at all times? If not it will activate when the brake lights are triggered?

Is your power cord to the trailer, compatible with a trailer with ABS?
