Rule of thumb if you can put your hand on them after a gentle rolling stop its all groovy.

Interesting. I always wondered how to tell if grease pack hubs were properly lubricated. I blew an oil filled trailer hub one time on this old piece of junk and caused a real mess. I started paying closer attention to that afterwards. I love it when I can see the proper oil level through a nice clean window cap.
