Starting Out Trying to get my hotshot business going. Does anyone know if a big Tex 20ac 3 car wedge will work with a ram 2017 ram 3500 with 8ft box. Wanna make sure it will clear the top of my bed and side of my cab when making tight/u turns. I wanna go big Tex for tandem dual axles and overall longevity of the frame. And Yes I Already Own The The Truck. Just starting out didn’t know to get a chassis truck
Trailer question

You will probably need to get a 5th wheel tailgate. Otherwise the bed shouldnt pose any issues that I am aware of. Tho the locals up here like to get a stake bed body and have saddle boxes to lock up their gear. Amazon offers some nice sluminum lockable boxes for about $100 each

I was looking at a small big Tex fifth wheel trailer to move stuff around and was told I needed to remove the box on my pickup. I passed on the trailer, but wish I didn't.

I do not know if this will work on your truck. It is not an original idea. Schneider had yellow reflective tape on the side of their trailers maybe 25 years ago. I asked why and was told when you look in the mirror stop before the yellow strip gets to the cab fairing. I laughed in my mind and thought non driver.
The girls , wife and daughter, drive this a lot more than me. I don't know or wasn't me pushed the cab fairing into the trailer rail a bit. Then I put the angled strips on the trailer. Just stop before they go out of sight. Just did it for the girls you know.
Pulled into a motel one night late. Time for a shower and a real bed. Wife called ahead for reservation. The entrance was very narrow and twisting. From the lay out I just knew it had parking in the back, wrong!
I really appreciated those markers while jacking around in a very small space.
Any trailer can be jack knifed into the cab of any truck. I have seen truck bed sides damaged from the trailer neck hitting them. I thank they had to be somewhere they should not have been.NoRearviews Thanks this. -
I have TWO of the 20AC and pull them with my 16 RAM 3500 dually 8' bed just fine. You just need to be careful on an incline the top of the tailgate might hit the trailer

I was leaning towards fifth wheel. But was mainly concerned with the ibeam of the big Tex car hauler trailer clearing my bed
-
So they said it was a fit issue?
