I have a 48' 102" Transcraft Combo I'm having issues with the suspension......When there is no load on the trailer the airbags are in the "normal" position but when I gross out to 80k the trailer sits REALLY low and rides like crap, the bags are hard and full of air but It's like the suspension doesnt have enough power to lift the load into the proper position, I've changed the leveling valve and I cannot figure out why this is happening, I normally pull my SD so this doesnt need to be a huge hurry to fix just looking for suggestions

Probably you have the 23K suspension which is pretty weak. I've heard of people putting 30K bags on the 23K and they work much better. Also heard the only difference between the two is the air bags. This is all hearsay i have never tried it.
-
I've never tried it with the Intraax but I know you can't easily swap the HT230 bags for the HT300. I've put 30k bags on a 25k but I think the bolt spacing is different for the 23k. On the 23k I had we ended up just adding a 3rd bag because it wouldn't pick the load up.
Cluck Cluck is your suspension the HT series or Intraax? If your not sure the HT series has the brake chambers mounted in the middle of the axle tube close together, the Intraax has them mounted out by the tires. I'll check to see if the bags are interchangeable. -
Do you have a sliding rear axle on the trailer?

Guys, he's is having this problem with only 80.000 lbs gross. 23,000 lb interaxx should have no problem picking that up. Only one thing that could be and that's not enough air presure in the bags. There is a regulator on the air tank that supplies the leveling valve it's supply air. I think I would start there.

The brake chambers are out by the wheels, when I came out of SD I had 11600 on the steers 33800 on the drives and 33000 on the trailer, If I had a load on i'd post a picture, but I took 11000 to ND and it was fine, while its loaded the deck is maybe 4 inches max from the tires and when empty or really like it rides just fine....great actually, I'll check the regulator out of the air tank to the leveling valve, but if I take the valve and manually it wont lift it either

it is a NON slide axle
-
The reason I mentioned it is that if you don't flip the lever back it will not completely reinflate the airbags. Since that is not an issue, I would do as another suggested and check the valve.

Check presure at supply to leveling valve, should be no less then 90 psi.
If it's not replace regulator, if good then change leveling valve.
You got to understand that your suspension is rated for 23000 lbs per axle. So technically your good for 46000 lbs and you only had 34000.
So tell me, Do you really think you need bigger bags?
You should be able to put 80000 lbs on the deck and have no problem.
Mind you the local dot will. LOL!!

Try what the other 2 posters are saying. There is a PPV[ pressure protection valve] that usually has pipe threads on it and it threads into your air tank. Follow the supply line from your leveling valve, it will be where the line goes into the tank. Take your supply line off, unthread the PPV, go to dealership, get new one, replace fitting from old to new. Shouldn't be more than $30-$4o for the new one. The PPV is there too keep a busted or badly leaking airbag from draining your system of air. [And believe me it would]. These things get old and plugged up, most cost efficient way is replacement.
