Hey how hard is it to come up with parts for transtars. I saw one pulling a stepdeck this afternoon. I would assume it would be like 359 parts etc but am looking for input

Been most of forever since I've seen a transtar

lots of character Thanks this.

But seriously Google throws up pics of all different kinds of International trucks. I'm guessing its the old cabover. I imagine the frame and running gear parts will be easy to find. Only thing I could see maybe being problematic would be cab/interior parts.

Lol nice . Yeah I was talking about the international transtar 2. I know where one is that's complete, BC 400 with a 13spd. It needs an in frame but I runs and drives. I dunno if want another 359 or not. Looking something different. Gentleman said he would take 2k for it. It's a local farmer I know. I believe he just wants I off the yard

It would probably look good next to your house, especially if you plant petunias in it...

Those old mechanical engines are cheap and easy to fix compared to today's tier 4 Cali compliant junk.

Transtar II, 4070B, was replaced by the 9670 in about 83. The Transtar II replaced the Transar I, 4070A in about 1978. I am not a historian or IHC expert so feel free to correct and educate me. Yes NM is basicly correct. The frame, crossmembers, spring suspension and many other things were used for many years universal to cab overs and conventionals. Things I remember going wrong at about 900,000 are P/S pump pumping motor oil out P/S dipstick. Cab latches. Spring bushings and rear shackle brackets. Cab cylinders and pump. A/C heater control cables. King pins lasted so long it was a Nascar pit stop. Plus all the regular stuff.
359 or 4070B? Well that would be something different! Does it cost much more to restore a 359, W900, or an an W Star? Old Blue to the left is licensed and insured and if I can corner a college kid to do an avatar sometime she can show newbee's what rolling coal used to be. I won't ask her to blow fire out the shack and they would not believe it anyway. Nobody asks about Blue but there is a guy that has a girl with a long nose and four eyes that gets a lot of attention here.
Blue and I have been together a long time and will die together. If you jump on a 4070B you should also consider yourself married for life. If you fix up an old Paccar, B61, Diamond Reo or some thing of that nature that's kind of like a trophy bride. Some one will still want her when you don't.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Did you notice those extra sexy six spoke Dayons on the front of Oz's truck?slickWillie1980 Thanks this. -
I've already had the 359 you see in my avatar. I just saw a 4070B yesterday pulling a stepdeck and it looked sexy lol.I also know where there is a 1966 marmon cabover in town with a brand new Cummins laying in her along with a 372 pete cabover that looks just....funky. I'm wanting to be a lil different and try something new but then again a family friend has an 85 exhd 359 he would sell me. I think I'll just get one of evreything lol
